Is the Pearly Permium a Fad?

I really can't tell the difference between the flight characteristics of champ pearly and normal champ. I have thrown both Orcs and Beasts and there really isn't any noticeable difference besides asthetics. Any of you have a similar experience? Yet there is more demand for the pearlies and you can expect to shell out a few more bucks for them. For me it has just meant selling all my pearlies to make a few extra bucks while I can but I just can't tell why they are worth it personally.

Any thoughts?

I havent thrown production orcs in a while but IMO the pearlies are flatter, faster and less HSS. Almost a different disc... Pearly plastic is gripper and feels better in the hand regardless of the mold too.

That's the biggest thing I noticed with the orcs. I won an orc right after they switched away from the pearly plastic and was really disappointed. It was domey and slow and beefy as all hell. I havent tried any current orcs in the past few years though...

I'm not much of an Innova fan, but any Innova's that I have liked have been Champions -- my Champion Valkryie is one of my favorite discs. I have owned a few Star's and haven't liked the feel of any of them. They look nice and feel good at first, but when you actually go to toss, they feel much different, IMO. Seems like they are also much more overstable than their Champion counterparts.

I guess I can only comment on "new pearly," as in the current runs of champ discs that are pearly, which I don't really like. I have never thrown the older pearly disc that people love so much, would mind trying one out if you are looking to get rid of it.
