Firestorm

Does anyone else bag a Firestorm? My go-to tomahawk disc, great for forehand skip shots, and uphill, headwind drives. Its really comfortable in my hand with the wide rim and super flat feel.

Really wanted to like it, but it was not as overstable as they initially advertised.

Yeah, I would put it in the lightly more stable category, but definitely not a definitive OS. Good for flex shots in certain situations for me and for tomahawks.

I have one of the OG holiday star Firestorms. It's an OK driver, but I've never bagged it. Not as overstable as advertised, and it doesn't glide that well. It's on the flat side, and for me flies like a Colossus. Marginal glide and a dumpy late fade.

It's OK, but nothing to write home about.

Threw my 2nd Firestorm today. This one's a champion, 175g. The Firestorm I threw prior is star.

I hadn't thrown this mold in a couple years, and had basically forgotten it existed. Here are my thoughts about the champion Firestorm.

Nice dome. This champion Firestorm is much domier than the star I have.

Super blunt nose. The Firestorm feels really clunky in your hand. The rim isn't super wide either. This thing is absolutely NOT the speed 14 disc it claims to be.

Innova rates the Firestorm at 14, 4, -1, 3. After throwing it today, I'd rate it more like 12, 4, -1.5, 3. The Firestorm flies like a somewhat broken in Destroyer. It isn't super fast, and it doesn't glide particularly well.

I actually liked the way the Firestorm flew, but not from a distance standpoint. I got consistent releases and flights out of it. Some high speed turn followed by a predictable late fade.

The main problem here is that the Firestorm doesn't do anything unique. The disc is noticeably slow/clunky and isn't overly long. I think Innova missed the boat on this mold. I'd rather just throw a Destroyer.

Anyone else still throw the Firestorm? Thoughts? I threw the disc well, but still felt like it was a disappointment. Even the Colossus goes further and is faster than the Firestorm.
