Streets, you are such an old fogie. But you are right. Not that there are not other options, but the Comet is the woods disc all others are compared to.

Honestly, the only other disc I would put as a second to the Comet is the Theory...but it just isn't quite as fast, like some of MVPs mids. It's a longer putter to the Comet's true mid. Everything else is too speed sensitive (Mako3, Meteor), to flippy (Fuse) or lacks the glide (Mako3, Meteor again) that helps it have such a good low speed flight.

BTW 180g Star Mako3
i only own one mako3 and it's 170 champ. i'd recommend checking out something like that if you are interested in finding a mako3 without that fade!

I think the Flying Squirrel and Fuse are right up there with the Theory if you take Z Comets out of the equation. If the Fuse had a bead it would be interesting to see if it flew more like a Comet or just sucked completely.

I might have already said this before (in fact, I know I have somewhere on these boards)

The comet is the go to disc in the woods for one simple reason - you can throw it like a putter and get midrange distance out of it.

No other disc is going to get you those results, and I've done my fair share of searching for it - but always end up back on the comet.

I have found the Impact a disc to be a good woods disc golf disc except that the Shark/Shark 3 is not a bad option either as the Impact is a faster mid/fairway hybrid.
