Question Bag discussion...

Not what's in the bag... the bags themselves. Right now I've got a full load of discs (12 inside, plus one in the outer pouch) in my Innova Standard bag and I'm considering a new one, so I can carry more of my range with me.

What I'm stuck on is whether I should go with a Lightning Large, which will add seven more disks... or should I just go all in and get a Tournament sized bag which boosts it by a dozen (give or take a disc).

Also... if I do go with the larger choice, is the weight enough that a backpack style strap becomes necessary?

It depends on how much you want to spend. I can't fathom paying $100+ for a disc golf bag unless it'll wipe my ass for me and give me a shoulder to cry on after a shanked drive, so I love my Innova Competition bag. It holds 20-22 discs + I've seen people with 3-4 discs in the putter pocket. The discs are easily accessed, it has 2 drink holders - you'll appreciate that down in FL, and 2 pockets easily hold all your valuables and accessories.

Many people also like the Fade Crunch for a similar price. I've never worn/owned one so I can't comment.

Also, buy the backpack straps if you go with a bigger bag. It's MUCH more comfortable.

Backpack straps are a YES! I a agree with JTacoma it depends on what you want I dont carry alot of disc but I like to have room for lots of other stuff water, munchies, dog bags, extra towels, etc. I would go big, worst that can happen is you will have extra room.

I don't see a point in buying a a huge bag. I like Nate Doss's approach to a bag by trying to keep it under 20 with fewer molds.

Jukeshoe: <---Prefers Gorilla Boy bags because he tends to beat the holy living **** out of any dg gear he uses. GB bags hold up really, really well and come in myriad configurations.

I had a fade crunch box with 13 discs. I now have a fade tournament bag with 14 discs. I got the bigger bag because I wanted more room in my bag, not just for discs. I use quad straps, you can get the ones I use from amazon...

I was considering this one... http://www.everythingdiscgolf.com/Fa...g-p-15966.html

Large bag, for under fourty bucks. Probably would do like a lot of you and use some of it for supplies instead of plastic. And that backpack rig is good, but EDG has one for a tad less... http://www.everythingdiscgolf.com/In...p-p-10180.html so I'd probably get that one.

If you are too lazy to use the search function, suck it.
