Vulture-9
Undertaker-8

It really doesn't matter though, they're both nice.

The flight numbers are just a guide, not science.
Now a days, they are mostly used as a way to "fill-a-gap" in a companies lineup. To make you feel like that disc will do what your others cant. Marketing.

It’s not the same speed 9 as, say, a Valkyrie. I think it’s pretty similar to a teebird, maybe a tad faster/more distance potential (related to speed).

It’s a very good fairway mold, IMO. Checks a lot of boxes.

An Undertaker is closer to an Innova speed 7 in rim width than an Innova speed 9.

Even a Vulture still has a narrower rim than a Thunderbird/Firebird/PD. And I can’t rwmember specifically anymore because it’s been quite some time since I had the calipers out measuring them, but an Undertaker’s rim measures about the same or maybe just barely wider than a Teebird/Eagle.

pretty much my exact feelings on throwing the Undertaker.

If it's actually a speed 9 rim, they've done some black magic with it where it's incredibly straight and very workable for a disc that fast.

I think it's about a 7 or 8. Never though it's as fast as a Valk or a Sidewinder. Technically, speed isn't just about rim width. The height and profile of the disc are factors as well, but there's quite a bit of truth to what E-money said below.

The Discraft company people did with the Archer move disc from 7 to 5 speed fairway disc as clearly the Archer mold was like the Stratus, but the older discs like some putters, Rattler need to be speed 1. Even the Zone got the update to the mold, the disc going from 3-3.5 to a full out 4 speed.
