Default avenger vs avenger ss

i understand the avenger is a lot more stable than its counterpart however how big of a difference are the two discs. i love my avenger ss as a hyzer flip straight flight kind of driver for rhfh and im interested in hearing about the avenger unless i could get suggestions for disc that have greater distance potential for rhfh.

Avengers depend on the plastic - X Avengers are pretty straight, ESP and Z are more overstable.

IMO it's kinda like the relationship between a Teebird and TL, but maybe that's just me.

well i dont think the avenger will be as flipy (obviosly stated in op lol) so i dont see it working like your hyzer flip shot (maybe beat in a bit). But i think avengers are pretty solid. I learned to play rhfh and i just recently developed my back hand, and i think most people that do the oposite like to throw overstable discs forehand. I don't want overstable disc unless i want an overstable disc, not just because i am throwing FH lol... but i think youll hear alot of firebird/banshee type stuff. I get pretty good distance and control laying a beast out there flat.

There is a pretty drastic difference between the two molds' stabilities. It's difficult to really quantify but I'd say it takes about 425' of power to make a Z Avenger fly like an Avenger SS does at 300'. In calm conditions, the Avenger actually has less distance potential than the Avenger SS in the hands of most people because.

It's a bigger jump than the Teebird to the TL.
I'd say the Avenger SS is like a Roadrunner and the Avenger is like an Orion LF.
The Avenger isn't crazy overstable, but you can throw it into a moderate wind and it won't be flippy.

I play a lot of Avenger SS's (170g in ESP, and FLX). I also have an X Avenger (175g) that I am beating in. Big, big, big difference between the two molds.

I find all of the Avenger SS's to be exceptionally easy to throw (300-350), whether for a straight line on a hyzer flip or for a nice move right when thrown flat.

The Avenger on the other hand is my mid wind disc, with a firebird being the big wind disc. I throw a lot of Teebirds, and Strikers (more overstable than the Teebirds) and my Avenger X is much more overstable than the Strikers.

Z Avenger - mix between a tee bird and an Orc, maybe even a very beat Pred with
less late fade
ESP Avenger - starts more stable than most Z, but beats up more quickly
X Avenger - least stable, like a new TL maybe

FLX SS - like a faster TL when new, beats to roadrunner/sidewinder like. Best plastic for the SS in my opinion. Great disc.
Z SS - varies from most stable to almost least stable of the SS plastic choices.
D SS - insta-roller

The Z avenger is a great disc, as is the FLX Avenger SS.

Huge difference.

The Avenger has a rather sharp triangular rim that a lot of people find uncomfortable in a forehand grip. For a similar disc that is more forehand friendly, I'd say a Crush.
If you are looking for something that is less overstable, a PD sidearms well and will fade less.

LOL.....this comment reminds me of "I voted for the war, before I voted against it" by John Kerry in the 2004 campaign.

Anyhow, back to the topic at hand. From my experience, the ESP Avenger SS was easier to control than a ESP Avenger.
