Oh, X avengers are more just straight with a little fade. If you are turning a new one over you have form flaws.

It's just doing what it's designed to do. Try using them for distance discs, they should work well.

If you want an overstable Avenger find a flatter one in Z plastic. They'll be more overstable than the X and last a lot longer.

My suggestion would be also to buy a Z Avenger in the same weight as your X, or maybe a few grams lighter. It will be a bit more overstable, but it will hold the intended flight line a LOT longer in it's life cycle. If you want the same stability as your X Avenger, just buy one that's about 3-5g's lighter.

The Z and X combo is really nice.....as the guys above had said, they each have their use and lines.

The X Avenger is a great disc, and even after it breaks in, it can still hold some slight stabilty. It's not really a hyzer disc, more like a straight flier that becomes more a an anny disc and great hyzer flip disc.

If you want the "New X Avenger Feel" without it breaking in as fast, I'd recommend a Champion Valkyrie. The Valk and the X Avenger are close to the same disc, with the X Avenger being a hair faster.

The ESP Avenger might actually be a good medium for you between the Z and the X. The Z Avenger will break into straighter, but not as fast as the ESP Avenger. The ESP will be moderately overstable for a while, but after about 6 months to a year of use, it should just work into a pretty straight fligher with some fade at the end, maybe getting a little close to what a fresh X Avenger will do, but maybe not that understable.

The Avenger is a great disc in any plastic, except I haven't really loved the FLX Avenger. But, I'm not really a fan of FLX in general.

I sorta figure if the X Avenger is stable when new (mine is at 350ish), and then develops a small turn as it breaks in, and then turns into a nice hyzer flip disc, then cycling new ones into the mix, just like Rocs, Eagles, and so, is a smart thing to do. Put a Z in there for the moderately overstable use, and chuck a Z Predator in for true overstable usage. True, the X Avenger is OOP, but they can still be found.

Heck, the Pred and Avenger have nearly an identical feel in the hand IMO, so you basically have one set of discs to cover overstable to understable

actually, the X Avenger is one of the few X plastic discs that Discraft didn't discontinue last year. It is still in print, and as long as Nate Doss's name is on it, and Doss is their poster boy, I doubt they will look to discontinue it. Though Doss himself admits that he rarely uses it anymore, other than for rollers.

Get an ESP Avenger.....I'm not sure if they make it in FLX, but if they do, get it and hit as many trees as you want.
I have to agree on the Valk comment though...the Star Valk pushed the Avenger SS right out of my bag....

Just repeating people but I'd switch to the Z Avenger for what you're wanting. My X Avenger turns over more even brand new. The Z holds the hyzer line much better, but this isn't really a hyzer disc, at least not for me. I'd use a Predator for that. Avenger is for that straight shot with a little hyzer at the end.

my ESP Avenger 174g was pretty damn overstable out of the box, it's getting a little straighter now but still a nice predictable hyzer disc for me (rhbh). Never tried the Z Avenger but as others have said it's probably the most overstable if that's what you're looking for.
