First form check, been studying loopghost and the ace it disc golf backhand videos for a few weeks now. Those really helped me understand lag and the weight shift a lot better. Before i was completely just yanking the disc with my right arm. I'm looking for advice on other resources or any drills that would help with where I'm currently at. Video has both standstill and xstep throws. Thanks in advance for sharing any guidance!

Posture is wild starting in too wide stance and going into squat(knee bend) instead of hip hinge motion pattern. Your upper body is going around your lower body, instead of your lower body getting out of the way of the swing. Note how your backswing is going around your knees so you don't hit your knee caps. Note how I swing straight back with the knees back out of the way.
https://www.dgcoursereview.com/forum...d.php?t=139973 Your weight pressure gets stuck on your rear foot and pushes your rear hip/spine up over top your front leg and jams the pelvis from rotating freely. Note how my weight pressure has shifted off the rear foot, so rear hip/knee can drop and pelvis can swivel freely posted up on the front hip. https://www.dgcoursereview.com/forum...d.php?t=118948 ![]() |

Ok worked on fixing my backswing this week and weight shifting at the top from all from a stand still with no front leg rotation. Timing still needs some work but its feeling much more consistent than before. I started taking a less wide stance as you brought up and I think is helping me drop that back hip better as well. Will work on emphasizing that a little more next practice session. The figure 8 video really helped with clearing the legs! Back swing it starting to feel much more consistent than before.
Not worrying about the off arm just yet. Couple questions, on that back hip what is the best drill to emphasize the proper mechanics for that movement? I'm a little confused where I should be looking, should I try to look backwards as long as possible? Or just let my head naturally rotate with my shoulders? Thanks for the guidance! https://youtu.be/1ggLLXidHeE |

You are folding your posture and bending things way too much in the backswing, anterior pelvic tilt/spine extension/sticking butt out/dropping head over toes. Buttwipe/Inside Swing should keep you pivoting much more centered instead of your butt going too far back through wall and head crashing into other wall.
Need to post up on rear leg into backswing to turn back on it. Bounce more quickly back and forth between feet. Turn your rear foot further back, you are pigeon toed and restricting your hip from swiveling centered. ![]() |

Great will work on staying more level in the back swing this week and on those two drills.
Just for clarity on the back foot should my back toes point slightly away from target rather than be perpendicular to the target?

OK slightly different backswing I've been playing with. Still keeping extra movement to a minimum and going straight back. This style feels a little more natural for me.
Keeping the backfoot angled slightly away from the target was the main backhand focus for the field this week. Starting to try and just keep the left arm at my side for now as well. https://youtu.be/rLZatfxZM4U |

Your feet are remaining dorsiflexed. Need to plantar flex back and forth.

Ok next video. Worked on some one leg drill this week. And continued the one step throws.
I'm finding when stepping wide it can be difficult to consistently get my weight shifted over the top of my front foot "nose over toes" taking a step back to focus on this as well in my one steps. I find that shifting from my Backfoot toes rather than just forward is helping with this. Will continue to reinforce this each practice session. On the back foot dorsiflexition I think I'm making progress here, still need more time to develop the muscle memory. My rear view backhand not great. Side view seems to me to have a much better push off/dorsiflexition on the back foot. Really going to focus on discuss slow swings for a few days before going back into the field to get a better feel for this. Thanks for the help! https://youtu.be/yF7IkgSpiSc |

Taking One Leg Drill too literal. Do more reverse elephant walk into backswing.
https://www.dgcoursereview.com/forum...55&postcount=2 1-step is too diagonal left or northwest, and your disc is coming in early before you plant front foot. I would do regular elephant walk, or open to closed drill, or reverse stride drill. https://www.dgcoursereview.com/forum...&postcount=384 |

Okay going to stick with one leg drill for a few sessions to nail that down.
In terms of reverse elephant walk just for clarification are you just referring to your shift onto the back leg in the gifs of you doing OLD? Or are you suggesting I literally step my front foot back while doing OLD like with the golf drill video? |
