I got my Z Glo Raptor in the mail. The sticker said 171-172g, the plastic feels great & it's really flat. Also has a shallow feel. Had about a half hour of time with it at my local course before dark.

Flight: not at all what I expected. This thing is really workable & not comparable to a Firebird or FD3. I thought it less stable than any new Thunderbird I've had. I'd give it flight ratings of 8/5/-1/2. Was getting really nice FH's with a lot of control. I could see it working into my bag but need to test it more.

That's weird that it sounds so similar to the vulture.

I just lost two Machete's in the drink this past month. Was holding off to see if I loved the hand feel of the Raptor, thinking it would be an OS utility. I guess not...

Also makes me very hopeful that the predator still has a solid place in Discraft's production lineup.

I'm certain a Machete & Raptor could live harmoniously in your bag. They won't be stepping on each other's toes.

I'm hopeful that the predator isn't going OOP as well. Fortunately there are probably enough in dealer and warehouse stock to last another 10-15 years.

I can't imagine they will OOP the Pred if the Raptors are coming out less stable than originally imagined. It's such a classic and widely praised mold I just can't fathom why they would ever drop it from the lineup...

...Of course discraft has made some absolute mind-bending decisions in the past with regards to their molds.

For sure, and in fact I have a predator that's been in my bag almost 10 years and still quite overstable. I probably have enough at my house to effectively last me 10-15 more years.

It's the principality, Smokey!

I threw the glow Raptor around today. To me it flies very close to my champion Firebird, not the flat top kind that dumps hard but the kind with good glide and a dependable fade at the end.

Nice disc, less distance and more fade than the Vulture.

More glide, distance, and less fade than the Machete. My Machete dumps hard like my flat top firebird.

So this raptor is sounding like its sitting between a vulture and predator stability wise? Or is it just a comfier feeling pred without the sharp rim?

Between a vulture and a machete I don’t think I see the need for this.
