Have you thrown the Night Strike 2? It's a little closer to FD than PD, but I think it'd fit the bill here if you're really determined to only have one fairway speed disc.

That said, I think bagging a slightly flippy, neutral, trustworthily stable, and Firebird-ish fairway-speed disc is a really good idea for most of us average-arm (defining this as a well-controlled 350') sorts of players.

Teebird, Volt, Explorer in that order. All good molds

I would say either explorer or culverin. I've bagged culverins since the release and believe that they are an underrated disc. I don't throw PDs, but if they are similar to thunderbirds and anaxs then I would say a culverin would fit perfectly in between the two molds, just enough stability to trust them into light-moderate wind but not to overstable to miss tighter lines.

Surprised the Saint hasn't been mentioned. Enough variation between plastics to find what you need, and (IMO) the best feeling disc in that stable fairway slot.

Saints and Escapes are vary similar to me. Haven’t thrown either in a while.

Been trying to dig a bunch of my old stuff out of their hiding place and do a little field work but life keeps getting in the way.

Off the top of my head I have quite a few of the discs mentioned so far in this thread with the exception of the Teebird.

I have Rivers, Escapes, Saints, Thunderbirds, Volts, Amps, Vultures, and probably a few more that I’m forgetting.

I'd vote for the Orion LF. Especially if you can get your hands on the 1.1 run.

MVP Volt. Cosmic Neutron for OS, Pr/N/Pl for straight with varying fade, Fission for flex shots. One mold can do it all. If you’re after a single disc instead of single mold, get a Plasma.

They feel similar to a PD in the hand as well.

I'm using the Mantis for this slot now. Big Z for straight to understable and Z for slightly more stable.

Groove and a 3 other grooves.. They will all fly differently and cover all the shots

Personally I'm on a Crave love affair, a light 156 eclipse se and a neutron 162.. I wish I could get some love out of my 150 plasma though.. I guess that depends what you thought of the Volt.
