Default Latitude 64 Striker

I've been working my way through various lat/ws/dd molds, and I noticed a ton of praise in archived threads about the striker. The main complaint I saw was that it is an inconsistent mold.

I recently got a 174 opto striker and this thing fills exactly the slot I wanted it to. No high speed turn whatsoever on throws out to about 360', fights wind decently, and has a nice strong fade at the end of its flight. I love this thing. The large diameter feels good in my hand, and it throws really consistently and easily for me.

Any one else bagging a striker? Thoughts?

I love that disc as well. I have both Gold Line and Opto, and have noticed that the gold line is now starting to get a little turn in it when I put a lot of snap on it while the opto has stayed more stable.

Maybe it's the larger diameter, but something about that disc just works well for me. Can't see myself not having one always in the bag. It's been a great disc for tight wooded holes, annys, and windy days. Just don't seem to get the same results with other discs of similar characteristics.

I've got a little stash of Strikers. I keep one bagged for a FH disc. I have a couple old Optos also that are almost Firebird OS. Really sweet discs. Lopan has a nice stash too last I knew. He'll surely chime in when he sees this. He's got some sweet Pole Dancers I found for him. If he hasn't sold them all.

I love my striker! It fits real well between my TD and my PD.

the interesting thing with Strikers is how sharp the nose is.... Most discs with the same rim width are rather blunt.

Unfortunately for me, when i was throwing strikers, my form was still inconsistent and so was the mold. So when i would lose one (which was more often then i'd like) the replacement would be different, no matter the weight. So i moved on to throwing SOLFs and i couldn't be happier.

I tried Strikers for several months when they were first released. Aside from the consistency issues, mine lost a lot more HSS before LSS, and I wasn't looking for a turning disc. I eventually settled on PDs and couldn't be happier.

I have a noodle arm and I use a 165 GL Striker for my overstable meathook slot (I can only get it out 250-275 ish). I can throw it on a hyzer line in any wind condition and I am guaranteed to have it go out, up, and finish hard left (RHBH). I use it as a major right turning disc when I occasionally break out the forehand.

Very interesting. I'm very curious to see how this thing ages. I hope (against the odds, apparently) that this will lose some lss before hss. For whatever reason this disc tends to hold whatever line I throw it on for a really long time. Still impressed, but it hasn't beaten in at all yet. It's in lovely pink, semi opaque opto.

old flat grass clear green strikers are probably my favorite disc ever. now kinda beefy with slight dome the old strikers didn't want to do anything but fly straight. Beat proton volt is as close as I have found but still miss my jesper strikers. worst color ever for such a great disc.

Yep, I think old snowflake Strikers and the older flat Optos were the original PD. Longer, faster Teebirds. Too bad they fiddled with the mold so much and lost some consistency. And the Pole Dancer Strikers might be the best ones of all.
