Nooo, rattlers are venomous from Day 1. I'd give that critter wide berth...

Actually, baby rattlers are the worst---they've got the biting part down ok, but the letting go...... not so much.

I used to read a ton of Tom Clancy. I did read the Bear and Dragon when it first came out in early 2000's i believe. It's probably still in my attic. Haven't read any Clancy for a few years. Was there something in Bear & Dragon about turtle sex? I don't remember.

Last weekend, while throwing hole #2 of Ferry Park, I had a run in with a local box turtle. After emptying out a majority of my bag, I noticed a lone disc slowy working its way toward the basket. I lifted up the disc to find a box turtle underneath. Apparently, I managed to plop a firebird, rim down, over the poor little guy. My guess is that he was scrambling to the water for safety, which so happened to be in the direction of the basket. I thanked him for the assistance, concidered carrying him to the nearby creek, but ultimately decided to let him do his own thing.
