Well as one could safely assume I played very poorly this weekend with all the form changes in my head. I did end up practicing after some advice from our groups farthest thrower. He confirmed what we all have known that I continue to use only arm in my throw. He was able to better explain it for me by saying I look like I’m guiding the disc rather than trusting my line and then firing away. I then realized how left I line up on a lot of my “hyzerflip” shots. Anyway I’ve got a lot to process through but I filmed some practice shots after the round:
I think this is where I should stay. Throwing from a one step until I get my step fully lateral and the weight shift also lateral instead of rising. I can now see the swoop motion my body does going upward. Reachback has been bothering me. I think the pendulum along with my poor weight shift is causing a very nose up trajectory and release. This other “simple” way felt like I could keep the disc wider to let it swing in. I’ve also got that lateral vs vertical battle happening in my head because I obviously look more like Eagle or Will S than GG or SW. I’ll be toying with this more. I focused on all these to use no arm and really feel by butt and core pushing and rotating to power the shot. I don’t think I’ve found the right feeling yet, but my arm felt infinitely better in these shots, like I could throw full power because it wasn’t a rounded arm trying to throw by itself. |

Work on Inside Swing Drill and Door Frame Drills. Your aren't turning your shoulders back much and hinging into the rear hip.

You are falling straight down and then going horizontal/up into the plant instead of dropping horizontal into plant.
Stride along the wall doing butt wipe into the plant so you are falling targetward.

Try to keep your right knee from bending in the stride, so you plant sooner into narrower stance and plant firmer like Swivel Stairs and Crush the Can.
