I don't understand why he doesn't just switch to spin putting. It'd get away from the up and down putting motion and instead be more lateral motion, much like driving.

I've not had an impingement issue, but I had to shut things down last fall when i tore a rotator cuff muscle (Supraspinatus to be exact). I had more trouble getting my putting motion back than my backhand, by far. I had to switch to a pitch putting style, away from the spin putting I was using and definitely prefer. I'm back to spin putting now, but it's taken a long time to get there-almost a year. Shoulder injuries are tricky. It's an extremely mobile joint with a lot of connections that need to be in balance.

As I understand it from what others have said here, the impingement issue comes into play with the pitch putt motion, right where he's bringing his arm up to shoulder height. Which is why I'm surprised he hasn't done like you and change his putting motion up as well while recovering.

I'm sure Schusterick tried all variations of putts to see which ones hurt his shoulder the least. If he's not spin putting, I would bet it hurts him just as much. Maybe applying forward force on the putter uses too much of his shoulder and arm (when facing the basket and spin putting)....it's not really a motion thats similar to the backhand drive.

Back to the topic though: Come on McBeast!!!!!!

Has anyone heard anything about McBeth? He's playing like a rookie. Guessing he's hurt himself in the earlier rain.

I'm watching this on YouTube and there are several posters there taking glee in his injury. Are we really that childish?
