Default Another Portland trip

Hey Guys,

My wife and I are heading down to Portland this coming weekend from Victoria. I am going to get in 2 morning rounds. One at Pier and the other undecided. Typically while we are away I get up early and get rounds in and let her sleep. My wife doesn't play but will occasionally tag along. What are the most scenic courses within a reasonable drive from downtown. Hornings? LL Stub? Something else?

We will coming from Port Angeles in Wa and taking the 101 and the 5 in and out of town so I could potentially play something on the way home if it is unmissable but keep in mind I only have time for two rounds.

Now for the city.

We are in our mid-early 30's like good food and great beer. IPA's Dunkels, and Pilsners usually fill our fridge and we would like to hit a brewery or three while in town. We love brunch, bbq, mexican, seafood. We don't mind paying good money for a great meal but don't want to be taken for fools in the tourist traps.

What are some cant miss experiences in Portland?

Anyone want to play an early morning round? I currently have travel tag 60 and would love to play a round with a local.

Stub is beautiful and crazy challenging. Blue Lake is a par 69 open course with tons of OB. Milo is, well, Milo. I'm personally not a huge fan of Hornings Hideout, but many people love it.

As for breweries I really like Hopworks. Their beer is fantastic and they have some very tasty pizza as well. Bridgeport brewery is a pretty nice venue as well in NW, as well as the Rogue brewery in NW. I've also heard a lot of very good things about Hair of the Dog in inner SE. If you go to Hopworks or Hair of the dog try to make a trip to Next Adventure, they have a huge selection of discs and DG gear, just a couple blocks from Hairvof the Dog.

If you end up taking Hwy 101 down or back to Port Angeles, I highly recommend you try to stop in Shelton and play Shelton Springs.

I think my plan is Milo Sunday and Pier Monday.
Any locals planning a morning round at Milo Sunday?

No problem. Don't be worried if there is a small line, it goes pretty quick. We spent 3 nights in Portland and I wanted to go back to that place every night. Such a fun city, hope you have a great time.
