Default Would you pay for live coverage now?

Based on the potential the USDGC showed us, I would have easily paid $5.00 - $10.00 for a 3 day pass to watch the USDGC coverage live. I was wondering if anyone else would have paid for it and if so....how much?

$0. The exact same money I pay the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, PGA, Nascar, FIFA, UFC and dozens of other fledgling sports just like ours, some of which I probably don't know exist.

Exactly.
Like or not, watching live is not something i want to pay for. Especially when there's Jomez.
Not being cheap, just not interested in all day coverage.

I would not watch live disc golf if they paid me to do so.

I would be willing to pay for live coverage.
But, if the provider wants me to pay very much for it, then it would need to become much more polished/better quality than what live coverage looks like right now.

I have paid to watch live disc golf coverage. Disc Golf Planet covered, I believe, the 2012 and 2013 Worlds on a pay-per-view basis. I think they had a deal where if you paid early, you got the whole week for $5 or something, but I'd have paid their $2-3 a day rate if I had to. And the coverage then was nothing compared to what we have now. 240p, maybe 480p if they were in a good spot for signal, lots of lag, but still worth it. With what they're putting out now, it would be a no brainer to pay for it.

Even though all the content providers have patreon accounts and they make some money from them, I still think they're not monetizing their work properly. Jomez and CCDG should be reserving their next day turnaround coverage for their patreon supporters. If you're not paying for it, you shouldn't get the opportunity to watch yesterday's round today. Make folks wait a week or so for free content. Same principle for live.

No, I much prefer post production coverage. If I had to pay a subscription to Jomez, CCDG I'd probably do it so long as it was affordable.

Saw the title of the thread and instantly thought the same thing. I did it before for less quality. Why the heck would I not do it now.

No, but I have neither the time nor the patience to watch a ~4 hours of tv/computer.
The beauty of Jomez & CCDG is that I can (usually) watch the whole (post-produced) tournament in 4 hours over the course of the week.

As much as I enjoy disc golf, I'm not sure it is entertaining enough to warrant a 4-hour time slot on any network (cable or internet). I agree with JC17393 on the suggestion for Jomez & CCDG. There is a far bigger market (IMO) for post-produced highlight rounds that skip the walking between holes, waiting, pre-shot routines, etc.

If my choices were live coverage or wait a week for post-produced (for non-patreons), I'd wait for a week. The only annoying thing about it would be the spoilers around here. I wish more people would understand that some of us don't have the luxury of being able to watch the coverage the second it comes out. On a typical DGPT event, I'm usually just finishing watching round 1 when people are starting new threads on here congratulating the winners...

First world problem for sure, but still annoying...
