SO the front foot/plant foot is like in doorframe drill where the further forward I move it/stay in balance on rear leg longer I can load into the frame and have a bigger/longer swing away to target? - as soon as that plant foot comes down everything has no choice but to come forward. Sweet baby Jesus I hope I’m right cause this could be huge in the way that I think about everything.

Rain here so just figuring out the motions at home.

This is my interpretation of what I’m understanding as being balanced on the rear hip and making the swing longer and shifting forward using plantar flexion.

Looks smoother, but your rear arm is in the way behind your back.

Do x-step with two-arm battering ram pump and swing.

Excellent! If that’s the right idea I’ll work on the other issues! Def feels a lot more balanced but I remember last time trying this you said I was sinking or something. Will find out at the field tonight, if it’s like door frame then I think I can figure it out. The whole bow string analogy makes a lot more sense - driving forward whilst “lengthening” the arm pulling the string back then shifting forward into plant and the string gets released.

Unfortunately some rounding in this one but it was the end of the session- need to keep my arm tauter/longer! And I swear this felt like I was squatting down to the ground but there’s barely any flex. Crazy.

You turn back too early so your front leg is stepping out backwards instead of swinging laterally.
Kick the can(can just pretend to kick something) in slow motion with the front foot swinging forward like Dave with the heel hovering/gliding forward just above the ground. You are kind of stepping out over the can ahead of your hips/weight.

Gotcha thanks sw. I think not being as tall (straighter leg less flexion) on the rear meant I’m subconsciously picking up my front foot instead of swinging freely.
