Default Archon/Aries/Astra

Looking for something flippy to complinent my Wraith/DD setup. Considering Archon, Aries, Astra. Has anyone thrown all of or two of these molds and can give a good side by side review. Also open to other suggestions. TIA for any input.

I've only thrown the Aries out of those and it's pretty shallow if I remember correctly, which I don't like. It's definitely flippy though. Currently throwing a seasoned Beast L for this. the rim isn't exactly the same but it's very comfortable and it's definitely going to flip if you're throwing Wraiths.

I'd recommend going with a Pro Wraith in lighter weights. Throw some rollers on concrete if you need to break them in a bit.

Im working on some G stars right now about 170. I'm looking for something designed to turn to bookend my Wraiths on the opposite side of my DDs.

I think maybe a Tern would be better than the Archon/Astra. I found the Astra to be flippy without being glidey.

I have been experimenting with a tern in this slot and was thinking maybe a speed slower just to match my Wraiths. So the Archons numbers popped and astra just BC I like Millenium the numbers on the Aries woukd make it thee flippiest thing I have ever bought.

Of these three, I've only thrown the Archon. It's a good disc, and I've thrown it in Champion, Blizzard, Star, and Echostar. Echostar is great, but has gone OOP.

But I will suggest that you look into a Mystere. I like the Star Mysteres, and you might like the GStar Mysteres if you like GStar plastic. The Mystere has a bit more glide than the Archon. The Archon has the "Destrulcan" top that some like and some don't; the Mystere is more Tern-like, but is the Speed 11 rim width that you may be seeking to compliment your Wraith. Both discs (Archon and Mystere) are good; it may come down to feel and glide for you.

The Aries is basically a Mamba-X, and the Archons I've thrown, have been flippy and glideless. I'd say get a Tern or Shryke, they're both more of a 12 than a 13 IMO.

Give a Thrasher a try. Been bagging one for max D but it can get squirrelly in anything more than a light headwind. Same rim width as the Wraith.

I don't have the arm you do so I'm only throwing control drivers & slower right now.

That being said, a light Astra in Millennium base plastic is a good disc. It will flip up and ride nicely. The top is kinda weird.

I didn't like the Astra in Q plastic at all
I didn't care for the Aries either
