Default Criminal Vs. Machete?

I currently bag a Lucid Criminal for a few forehand shots on the local courses. But in my never-ending quest to experiment with new discs, I'm wondering how a Z Machete might compare. Has anyone thrown both?

For reference, the things I like about the Criminal are:

1. It gets reeeeaaaaal far to the right on hyzer.
2. It skips reeeaaaal far to the right on low skip lines.
3. It glides surprisingly well when kept especially low.

There's one hole in particular that's only about 200', but the best gap is probably about 100' to the left. Thrown low(anywhere from 3' to maybe 6' high) under the trees, the Criminal will glide up to about pin high, and skip all the way over to the basket. It's the easiest birdy on the course for me as long as I miss one particular tree.

Another hole on another course is also about 200' and 100~ feet right, but has unlimited ceiling and no real skip potential. Throw that Criminal high on hyzer, and it will get all the way over to the basket.

I know there are other discs that can accomplish these shots, and I've tried several of them. But I've never thrown a Machete and I'm curious. Discrafts Z plastic seems as durable or more durable than any other plastic I've thrown, and sometimes it comes in nice, bright colors.

Many thanks in advance for any input.

Haven't throw either but the Machete isn't Trilogy...so Machete wins.

Well since there's been no input so far, I'll just give my experience on the one Machete I've thrown. It was insanely OS, like a FAF Firebird. Started fading out of my hand, will flex out of anything, biggest skips, etc. If you want to throw OS Firebird shots into a hurricane, this is the disc. I don't have the arm to use it for anything but trick shots.

I haven’t thrown a criminal, but I can tell you that I have thrown the line you are describing with a machete. They hook up hard and early. Work very well for a utility OS fairway. I’ve found them to do what I want but can’t get most firebirds to do.

My only experience here is with a z-flx machete. It is bar-none the most overstable disc I have. I got it in my own never-ending quest for the perfect thumber disc. I got it in z-flx because I wanted max grip. I like it, but I'm not strong enough to love it yet. On forehands it does have a hard and early fade, much more so than my destroyer. Generally though, I prefer my very os lucid verdict for the same shot that I'd get with the machete forehand since like I said, I'm not strong enough to handle the machete properly.

Looking at a comparison of criminal and machete, you're right, the machete does look like a higher speed version of a similar disc.. I'm sure you already knew that before you posted though. If you can rip forehands, I think you'll like the machete

I e only used the Machete and its DAMN OS - in a good way - Like 10/3/+1/4 At least mine is - its 175g ESP and it feels nice in the hand, definitely faster than a Firebird but not as fast/thin OS as a FLICK - if you like FH comfortable discs the Machete in ESP is nice, also I like the Axiom Fireball and MVP Resistor for FH friendly OS discs

Thanks for the replies. I kinda figured there wouldn't be many(if any) people to have thrown both. Might have to just try a Machete and compare for myself.
