Default Innova XCaliber

I have been throwing the Destroyer for a few years now. I use it mostly for FH shots that need to go far and fade hard. It is definitely not my max-distance disc/ that would be my Wraith. Lately I have been wanting something SIMILAR, but MORE OVERSTABLE. I want to stay in the 'speed 12' realm so I have been thinking about checking out an XCaliber. Can anyone compare these two discs for me or have another suggestion?

I've never thrown a Destroyer. But I have thrown XCalibers FH for many years and they do exactly what you described, go far and fade hard.

An Xcal would be a logical choice (nothing wrong with it) but I personally prefer the Nuke OS (IMO both more OS and glidier than the Xcal) for that "max OS yet still flies far" disc.

S/DS Destoryer is what you need, and some XCals are neutral in flight and not OS.

^ I have one. Looking for something with a little bit more bite to it. Innova's flight ratings are usually right on. If they rate the HSS & LSS of the Destroyer as -1/-3 and the XCaliber as 0/4, I would have to think the XCal as more OS than the S/DS.

In my expierence no. The S/DS has been more overstable to me than every XCAL I have ever owned. Also you can try to look for one of the new Avery Destroyers. Those things are the most overstable Distance Driver I have ever thrown from Innova

I didn't think the Avery Destroyer was all that OS, I have a couple and I can get them to fly like the older stock star destroyers. I do agree that the S/DS is very very OS, but way more so then the Avery Destroyers. The Xcal is a good choice, just get it in champion and at a shop where you can pick one up and name sure it feels good in the hand. If you don't like it it might be worth it to check out a Glow champion destroyer from the innova pro shop. I had one that was pure beef. If all else fails just get an Ape, or if you don't mind a different company a Spirit from Gateway, or Stiletto from Lat64

Do not buy an ape, at high speeds it is not OS.

Now back to the topic at hand here. The old Aj destroyers were not OS at all but there is a new run of them with the new stamp that have the top of the DD2 (and all other early Discmania Drivers) that are incredibly overstable. Just pick up a PD and look at the top profile of the wing, and then try to find a new run of AJ's that have that same top and it will be OS as all heck

A Stiletto is also a good choice

xcals are a great compliment to the destroyer. if you want something with a tad more stability and fade get a PD2.

Force does the trick for me. Feels a lot like a Destroyer, but doesn't flip at all.
