Default Criminal vs Fortress Discuss

Been working on my forehand lately. been using a longbowman as my go to. But I am starting to overpower it at times. Also my Culverin is turning over too much on backhand rips. Looking to grab one of these two discs for those slots. Which one should I buy? I am leaning towards the Fortress as it sounds like the Criminal might be a bit TOO OS. May come down to which one feels better in the hand when I go to league tonight

Fortress is a touch faster and more overstable than the Longbowman (with a wider rim), so it won't be a huge step up for you there but it could be enough. Fortress is very similiar to the Culverin in feel and flight, though I'd say it has more HSS so it won't turn over as much (particularly new vs beat-in).

The Criminal is definitely another step (or two) up the overstability scale versus the Fortress. It might be overkill for what you're looking for based on your description. It won't turn over on you, but it also might not give you the glide/distance you want due to that overstability.

The two discs feel fairly similar in the hand to me. I'm not sure if the "feels better" test will give you much. I'd push you toward the Fortress, but you will probably find both discs useful.

Thanks! This is what I was looking for. Sounds perfect for me two needs and will turn two discs in my bag(culverin, longbowman) into one. I am planning on replacing a firebird in my bag with possibly an Ahti, but sounds like I can look at the Criminal possibly for that role as well.

Where the fortress is similar to a PD, and the criminal similar to a monster. The Ahti is situated somewhere between the two -Sexton Firebird is the comparison I've heard quite a few times. OP might find what he needs in a combination of VIP and TP fortress - the VIP is more overstable and the TP holds straight longer.

ended up with a vip fortress. Threw it once in random dubs on a 325 hyzer hole into a headwind and parked it. Very beefy, should be perfect. May splurge on a ahti to replace the firebird down the road.
