I think its called getting old

Not familiar with that condition, but sounds like would be the cause. Even before the "hit" of the forehand, the force of the disc on your fingers is pushing back on your fingers.

Do you go finger pads or side of finger against the rim? I would imagine using the side of your fingers (pads on flight plate) would be less painful and thats shifting the force on your fingers 90 degrees or so.

Guilty of getting old. I do push finger tips into rim because when I use the sides of my fingers, it's much worse. The sideways pressure really does me wrong.

Agreed. My fingers are also kind of flexing/clenching at the hit, can't do that with sideways grip - IMO which puts weird pressure on the finger joints.

I rarely ever use it, but when I do it's just touchy approach shots.

I will sometimes use a four finger FH grip with the pinky on the rim for FH putts.

yep... one thing I do regardless about the condition of other parts of my body.. lol.. I always do hand / finger drills everyday because once you lose mobility in your fingers, you have way more problems than disc golf. I do stretching, hand grips, etc, every day.
