Spruce Knob, Mellen WI

Hey all, I just wanted to inform you that Spruce Knob course construction is underway!! SK will be a challenging 9 hole course with varying elevation, vista views, rock outcropping, and tight woods. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but our plan is to be playable by August. (If winter will ever go away)

Backstory- SK is owned by Peter Jokinen, and will be managed by his son Brady. Neither Peter nor Brady have anything to do with the infamous Jonny, and other than owning a lot on Highbridge Hills, they have had nothing to do with all the shenanigans over there.

“When Highbridge was sold this winter, my interest in Disc Golf came back. I’ve missed playing the game because I didn’t want anything to do with HHSC. Now with new owners over there, I feel as though the sport and interest will continue to grow around here, so why not compliment that with another course 5 miles away? Don’t get me wrong, we don’t plan to compete directly with The new Mecca, but we’ll give people the option to play a fun little course on their way through town. I haven’t spoken to Mr Wince yet, I’m sure we’ll meet up someday, I look forward to that conversation! - Peter J

The course is all cutout, and we started moving dirt today on hole 1 and hole 9. Our paying jobs got in the way of our project this summer, now we plan to get all fairways cleaned up and shaped before winter. We’ll keep you posted!
