Finishing up short tee pads this week on 10 holes for a Red-level layout ; 4895-Par 61. This fills a much-needed void for novice and rec level players at Sugaree and eliminates Christmas trees as OB.

This is SUPER exciting news that Sugaree is open again! Having traversed the entire state of NC for over 20 years and played 190+ NC courses in all corners of NC I have a pretty good feel for the state (even though there are still 70-80 new courses that I haven't played yet). I can sincerely say that the rock formations and the topography of Sugaree are my all time Favorite in NC! There are stunning holes and rock formations that you can't find anywhere else in North Carolina, of anywhere else in the US for that matter. This is a destination course that every serious player needs to make every effort to go play. A person cannot say they have seen all that NC courses have to offer until they have played Sugaree. It is like no other!

Rich, I can't thank you enough for your hard work and for making this treasure available again!

Now I have to plan a trip down from Virginia to play the new 18 hole layout!!

Great to hear you got the course open again! I played The Spine a couple of months ago and Burt mentioned that you may be opening back up. I am very eager to get out your way again.
