Ever play a course and the flow suddenly goes to hell, or a hole just seems out of place/makes absolutely no sense and and think to yourself, "WTF was the designer thinking here?" This is just one way that can happen. It's not uncommon for courses to change over time for numerous reasons. Some changes are good, some aren't.
