[I should have mentioned that I got the image from discgolfcenter.com.]

My first reaction to that gold stamp was, "ooh, pretty." Then somehow the image of it on the hood of a 1980s Pontiac Firebird popped into my head and now I'm all mixed up inside.

Yeah, I dunno what putters McBeth drives with when he's not playing for the win on USDGC hole 17, but that moment definitely left an impression on me. Clutchest of clutch. I wanna throw what that guy throws!

P2s are stable and Novas are straight. You can't say that if he uses a P2 for more holes than the Nova that means the P2 is a better (or his more trusted) driving putter. When you're as good as McBeth, those two discs are like night and day.

I know sometimes I would pull out the P2 when I'm afraid of flipping over the Nova. I've never seen McBeth flip over the Nova. He uses it for dead straight shots, and no one can make a P2 fly like a Nova.

Yeah I flip the Nova on occasion too. I guess we are just throwing so much harder and put so much more spin on it than McBeth does. Funny, because the Nova goes farther for him than me. He must have special ones that only he has access to, b/c it could not possibly be anything else that explains these differences between him and me.

Yep, I was going to say McBeth pretty much won the USDGC on #17 with a perfect Nova placement, which was not matched by the others. He also throws the Nova off the tee at other tournaments. Maybe not all the time, but plenty often enough...

He really doesn't throw it a ton. Probably because he can jump putt out to about 150 feet, starts powering down on roc3's at about 250, and prefers the P2 anytime he wants to play any fade or is in wind. So it is a pretty narrow use for a disc. But he can land it on a dinner plate whenever he needs to. I don't think its fair to suggest that its not his preferred mold, its just a narrow use

I saw him throw MY XT Nova across a lake in Rockwall at the Nick Hyde Memorial this year. During our practice round we were sitting there throwing across and he came up behind us. Naturally we all sat and watched him, Sexton, Big Jerm and a few others throw. He saw mine on top of my bag and asked if he could throw it. It went every bit as far as his did. 475ft hole, I'd say 250ft over water.

I saw on a video at one tournament where McBeth tried to anny a Nova over water to the basket near the water's edge (very wooded course; Paige Pierce went the 'land route' with a hyzer through the trees).

McBeth's Nova throw went into the water. So maybe even the Great One couldn't get enough shaping with the Nova....

They were calling this 100-120', which according to google converts to 156.82 internet-feet at this level of play.
