But Comets are floaty large diameter magic.
I've been reading up on the Theory. Thought that would be worth a shot but MVP/Axiom are not known for glide and that's part of what makes the Comet so special.

Want something like a Comet, pick up a domey Hpp Mystic, has a rim that feels like a cross between a Mako and Stingray, lots of glide, and does subtle turns and wooded shots well.

I just picked up an Atlas last month and I am shocked at the flight. Amazingly straight, able to be hyzer flipped easily, can hold lines very well, and has great glide. Sure, they look stupid, but I was able to get one that didn't offend me too much, and I've been bagging it since. It will likely make the permanent bag for the summer.

It's a beadless large diameter mid with a very staight flight. Not as understable as a Comet, but great control. As much as I cringe saying this about Innova, I'd strongly suggest trying one.

If you're looking for a more understable beadless mid, I highly, HIGHLY recommend looking into a Prodigy M4. For a couple years now, a 750 M4 has been a staple of my bag. Tunnel shots and turnovers mostly, but it's crazy how straight you can get it to fly with next to no fade at the end on a hyzer flip, and turns over easily for a left-to-right (RHBH) that flattens out and settles nicely without coming back to fully hyzer at finish. Moreover, the 750 plastic molds up super flat with a firm Star feel. Beautiful understable mid.

Always liked this post from Discspeed:

The Comet is like a classic sports car. Lacking technology, older sports cars needed to be well balanced and require skill to drive. To a driver with the skill to handle the car a more pure driving experience could not be found. A driver with less skill will never be able to control the car well enough to push it's limits, so the classic car's merits may be lost on them. It is also a car to be driven on a sunny afternoon and not for an everyday commute.

The Tangent is more like a modern roadster. It still is a very true and responsive ride, but it has technology that lessens the skill requirement for the user. Computer mechanisms keep the tires in contact with the pavement across varying user inputs and conditions. It can be used as an everyday ride. While a skilled driver will still enjoy driving this car, it won't be as pure of an experience as the classic car.

Theory is coming out in plasma plastic next week w/more glide. I find the max wts to glide fine honestly it has some of the most glide of all MVP mids.

Theory would be my vote. Very comfortable, no bead.

nothing that glides as far is as neutral and nothing that's neutral glides as far. you're never going to find a disc that can do everything a comet can do, but it's pretty easy to find a disc that can do a lot of it. plenty of neutral/understable discs out there that'll go straight at low speeds or on a hard hyzerflip.

i'd say start with a proton tangent. don't even bother with the theory.
