Many people define the start of a decade/millennium as being the first year with a 1, as in there was no year zero. So there’s that too.

I think more people believe they climb three flights of stairs because they stop on the third floor than start decades/millennia at 1. Do you remember the big y2k1 scare?

I remember staying up late playing Civilization II on my Gateway computer running Windows 95, when what I should have been doing was typing “what is disc golf” into Ask Jeeves so I could know about all the sweet plastics and molds that were about to come out.
Oh well, I got those pesky Carthaginians in the end.

I made a lot of money in computer programming thanks to Y2K. It was overblown by the Media, but it was a very real issue in the programming world...
