Default The amount of money I'll save if I give up ball golf for disc golf.

Working on baby #1 I always knew the day would come where I have to stop playing so much golf. Sometimes spending $200-$300 a weekend in 2 day tournaments. I feel that I couldn't have discovered this game at a better time in my life. There are 2 Disc Golf courses near me that are $100.00 for the year. There is another course that is free! I know that will be music to my wifes ears. I played in 1 golf tournament this year that was an auction tournament and it cost me and my partner $1100 to play ($550 each). Thats enough money to play disc golf for 5 years.

you can play disc golf for $10 for a long long time as long as you don't lose disc(s) and your parks are free.

Just avoid the "try new molds and buy 5 identical backups" bug and you'll be fine. You can probably pick up a used putter, mid and driver for less than $15 total off of another local player if you ask around.

A dozen pro V1 golf balls are $40.00 + lol. Its really laughable now that I'm thinking of what I spend on golf, and what i'll spend on DG.. Also you don't tie up your whole day on 5 hour rounds.

Even if you get a mild plastic addiction, I'm sure you could get an extra disc or 2 for the cost of a new Taylor Made or Callaway driver. A box of top quality balls will set you back $40+ for a dozen. There's 2 Lat 64 discs. Don't forget the cost of the driving range, the lunch at the turn and the time spent at the 19th hole. Sure you will might want lunch but you'll be brown bagging it and bringing beers from home vs getting one for 5$ plus tip to that hot college beer girl. From the ball golf you describe you could potentially save enough to send that baby to Harvard!

If you get reasonably good and play in local minis you might even make a little money playing disc golf.

And in disc golf ALMOST everyone you meet will be laid back and willing to help you get better, my favorite aspect of the game, well, besides it being cheap. I am the cheapest person ever.

With disc golf you can tie your whole day up with multiple rounds. In 5 hours I could drive to the course play 4 solo rounds and get home with time to spare. And at a cost of less than $5(gas, drink and snack.)

Disc golf is a win-win for you. Plus it has to be better for your health. You walk the course, and many courses are hilly so you get a little more exercise.
