For those DG'ers who live near Tompkins, MI there is a good possibility that an 18 hole course could be on the way. Tompkins Township Board meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. A group of local disc golfers have already proposed a disc golf course near Klavon's NW location. The Board is very open to the idea and their only real concern at the moment is course maintenance. The plot of land is part of a larger county park that is free to enter. If anybody lives near Tompkins and would like to support the possible disc golf course please attend a Board meeting. Thanks!

That's great, but two other, way more important things jumped out to me.

1. Everyone at the Metroparks was waiting for George to go. He was not a friend of the disc golfer that's for sure, and IMO he is the main reason why we saw such a precipitous drop off of events being run at Metroparks since 2010. Jeff's note confirms to me that things are starting to get back on track there.

2. "Discraft will be replacing all the baskets with a new basket of theirs that has not yet been released. " say WHAT? This sounds awesome and I can't wait to see this new basket. It's been a long time coming, the Chainstar was falling way behind with all of the other options now available.

As long as they're visible from the tee, I don't care if they rebrand Discatcher 28s and install those

I like color in the woods myself, but given that literally over half the baskets are blind from the tee on the current 27 holes, I'm not sure color would help off the tee.

That said, it makes them a lot easier to spot for visiting players walking fairways.

The city of Ironwood MI has officially approved a 9 hole course to be installed in Norrie Park! Design is confirmed - gonna be a beginner-intermediate level course, that will be a fun deuce or die course for advanced players.

We are good to go ahead and install baskets whenever we get them, so just gotta go hard at the fundraising this winter, looking for 9 businesses locally to sponsor a basket each. May add a Go Fund Me just for supplemental fundraising, although us locals have few doubts about finding sponsors.

Plans are to have 9 Mach V's installed this upcoming spring

Don't fret too much, the only "open to the public" one is Mt. Zion currently, so depending on what the owner of the private course does over the next year, we'll really only have two niners. I'll be content, but it's no IDGC or Highbridge lol.
