Get him a Stingray or a Leopard. I’ve seen them both under 160. My daughter and dad(9 and 67 respectively) both throw those discs and can throw them well with little strain.

I love to watch my kid throw that 100ft S curve shot with her 160 Stingray and the old man can still hit 200 with his even on his bad knee days. The Leo he can go 250, but if he’s not feeling great he won’t even pull it out.

I've tried looking for some lighter Mids/Putter. Some in that weight range (on a very quick look): Dart, Wedge, Wolf, Proof, Cobra, Skeeter, Teebird.

Gateway makes discs intended for younger kids with weights going down to near 100g. You can probably pick some midranges in the weight of your choosing. In order of stability from most overstable to most understable from their line-up you have Demon, Warrior, Karma, Scout, Element, Mystic. The Scout probably resembles the Buzzz the most, so you can gauge others based on that. If you talk to someone at the shop they can probably recommend something that's more kid-friendly in other molds as well.
