Default Putters

I have been playing about two years and constantly change putters. I am looking to get one type for good. So really my question is, is the wizard the best putter on the market today?

there is no "best" only what you are most comfortable with. imo if you can putt with a wizard, you can putt with an aviar, magnet, warlock, challenger, radius, big bead aviar or any other round edged putter that feels good to you- they are all much more similar than they are different.

Yes and no. Putters are a pretty personal thing. I love the Wizard, but that's becasue it feels good in my hand, and the stability helps my consistency. Others don't like the feel. I think you need to figure out what kind of putter your style needs to be successful. Understable, neutral, stable, overstable?? Then put a bunch of different putters in your hand and go with the one that feel comfortable to YOU. Then stick with it, and don't change putters everytime you miss a shot. I know people that use Aviars, Magics, Challengers, Magnets, Voodoos, etc adn they all love them. So there probably is NO best putter. Good luck.

Everytime I change putters, I always end up coming back to the Magnet, so I decided to quit changing, and I am sticking with the Magnet. Best, and straightest putter I have ever used. It also gets better the more it wears in.

Sloppy said it well, find a disc that feels good in your hand and has about the right stability for the style of putting you want to use and just stick with it. If you're one of those people that really likes to switch putters after a few misses just carry a couple of the same putter and switch to the other one when you feel like you're on a bad streak, then you'll have a backup putter broken in, too.

In my opinion Gateway makes the best putters on the market. The Wizard is great but I personally have the Voodoo and Magic in my bag. Can't go wrong with Omega SS, KC Aviar, JK Aviar. All of these are great putters and will do basically the same thing for you within the circle. Find what feels best in your hand and suits your putting style. Some people prefer a more overstable putter whereas others want one that's dead straight.

what do you like in a putter?

Do you need an overstable putter? Do you want a wizard but less overstable? Then get a warlock...want something similar but not the same? get a voodoo...

Want something with a different feel but that behaves in a similar way? Challenger...want more grip? Banger GT.

Want more glide but less stability? Magnet.

I could do this all day.

I've tried soft magnet(too floppy) challenger (too overstable) Aviar (didn't like feel to soft) ironically what I put with now has yielded the best results so far and thats the innova birdie. Put as far as approach and putter drives it sucks completely the birdie has worked well for me but only within 20 ft
