Default Playing in the fog

On the hill this afternoon visibility was about 200ft (less at times). It was pretty crazy to throw off into the mist and have the disc vanish completely. Good thing we all knew the course pretty well. We lost one Nuke in our group of five. A spotter isn't a bad idea.

I have played ball golf in dense fog before where I couldn't see the green, but never DG. It was fun watching the ball disappear after about 100 yds. I wouldn't play DG solo in the fog though; I would think a spotter is a must. If a disc get a weird kick off a tree, you would be looking for it in a totally different place than it ended up.

Jim, you just have to trust your disc. You know how they all fly and from those first few seconds you can tell how you threw it. With your course knowledge you should be able to predict where your disc is going to end up. I personaly love the fog, especialy when you hit something from a long distance and you just hear those chains, (or that tonepole, depending on where you are) It is a great feeling.

How about some fog pics?

Haven't played in the fog but I was spotting before a tournament in the morning fog. Stood right by the basket so the discs should have been coming right at me. It was cool not seeing who was throwing and how it ended up. Especially for the players trying to learn the course an hour before the tournament started.

Hell, I've that happen on a sunny day. I saw the disc hit the tree and fall but it must have rolled 75'.
