Hey, I am looking at the DGA tournament sponsorship webpage and am wondering what the dgcr community thinks about their plastic?
http://www.discgolf.com/tournament-sponsorship/ The incentive is definitely there. Spend 1000 and you get free mach 5. 125 premium plastic discs for 8 each ain't too shabby. Lots of room to make money for your local club, future baskets, or whatever. Thoughts on the plastic? What molds do you like? How is the SP and Pro Line plastic? Flagstaff is a pretty small disc community but we have a lot of beginners and the club is constantly growing. Sponsored Links

Not an expert really, but I have liked every DGA Disc I have thrown, but for whatever reason I still don't really go looking for DGA discs. I think they need better marketing TBH.
I keep a Breaker and a Squall in my bag. I'd throw an Aftershock over my Buzzz (but please don't tell the Buzzz that), if it didn't have the Roc-like rim which I don't like. Hurricane was almost the first High Speed driver that I want to relearn to throw, but Trespass won out because I can keep it straight easier. I used to love Rogues, but haven't tried them since I improved my form. Dunno. There really is just too much stuff to choose from these days. I also just like the personalities of the DGA sponsored folks I know about: e.g. Shasta Criss, Jon Baldwin, Kristy King. Last edited by DG_Before_Breakfast; 06-24-2013 at 08:27 PM. |

DGA designs criminally underutilized discs with Discraft's awesome production quality. The SP Hurricane is very long and has a balanced, manageable amount of overstability. The ProLine Hurricane is amazingly grippy yet durable but gets beat up easier and flies really far. The Rogue and Undertow are similar fast, user-friendly drivers that like to fly very long S curves when I threw them. The Tsunami would be great as a go to driver IMO because it is slow enough and easy to control and it flies far despite being quite overstable. The Breaker is a little faster than most putters but plenty overstable for very predictable short drives. I really should start throwing a bunch of DGA just to promote the company a little. My bag would be equally capable or potentially even more.

As for the plastic, it is all pretty nice. SP is sparkle Cryztal, basically, and Proline is ESP, but a bit firmer in my opinion.
DGA is definitely an under the radar company that gets lost among all the other manufacturers out there, but, like DG Before Breakfast said, the Squall and Breaker are excellent. |

I felt one of there putters, can't remember which one, and it felt like a Challenger. I guess that's good too.

I believe the Titanic is very similar to a Magnet.

Awesome plastic. Great molds. Currently I am throwing the Tsunami. But in the past I have thrown the Aftershock, Shockwave and the Rogue. All awesome molds but all of them just a tick faster in each category than I like to throw. I am still wanting to get my hands on a Breaker....

In my opinion DGA makes some of the best plastic. I think they just aren't as popular as other companies because they don't put out a ton of new discs every year like some others do. They work hard to perfect a particular disc rather than put out a bunch of inconsistent or subpar discs.
The Squall is the most under appreciated disc on the planet. Last edited by ThrowinGhost; 06-25-2013 at 12:22 AM. |

Maybe that's what it was.
Man I could have swore it felt like a challenger though. The one I felt up had a bead on it and was pretty deep in the feel. |
