Agree. Those old Mediums were ridiculous, the OG Firms even more so. Funny how people want g9i so much or PW or Fossil and yet they have no idea how stiff the old ones were. I have a Fossil Wizard that is super low shouldered, and only usable for throwing, not putting.

![]() https://ibb.co/rZcs7V7 White is a first run Fossil Wizard. Low shoulder, better for driving. High shoulder on right is better for putting. |

Calling Gateway direct and dealing with them will get the best results. Mike and the guys there are very helpful.

What do you like about the low shouldered for driving? I have 5 matching PW that were double stamped as seconds. They are low shouldered and not as stable as I want for driving.

That said they are mis-trimmed too so maybe the little bits of bead cut out caused them to be less stable more than the shoulder.

I've hear that mentioned a few times in here. What makes you say high shoulder is better for putting just out of curiosity? Seems like more of a personal preference thing. I honestly like low shouldered wizards for putting, but maybe i'm in the minority.

It is a personal thing. Opinions don't always read like opinions online.

When I was young, single and had disposable income I lived in an apartment just South of Dorsett & McKelvey. If that was me today I'd own 200 Wizards. It's waaayyy too easy to pick out a stack there.

I used the high shouldered ones as putting putters and I didn't notice any difference in them, I just figured I had them and they were no worse for putting than the low shouldered ones so why not? Now my shoulder is all fubar and they all fly more or less the same, which is another way of saying I can't really get any of them to fly like I used to. ![]() |
