Default The BEast in Waco

Is the course construction finished and the course reopened? There is a strong possibility I'll be playing the courses in the area in late September and I haven't played it. If anyone knows, please let me know...

Thanks in advance.

Did some research and found this... Looks like November before it opens.

Inquiring minds wanna know.

These are close estimates.
Hole
1 480
2 290
3 600
4 600
5 320
6 470
7 280
8 500
9 290

Lots of OB. Fast greens. Butt cheek clinching to the max.

The shots are right there in front of you. No real luck factors. If you execute the shot you will be
rewarded with a chance for birdie or a chance to execute your next shot for a rewarding 3. I feel
like the course is going to play harder than the old layout. No easy birdies. Definitely some room to
air out some shots. Like the old layout, anything under 60 will be a good score. Water comes into play really on
one hole twice. Though, i did see Huggy find it on one other hole. We are losing some nice areas and gaining
some others. We won't have people parking on the fairways anymore. (except during the drag boat races)
We have two bathrooms and water fountains on the front nine. More room to park. And should see a well
manicured and maintained park.

We are probably looking at a realistic date of Nov. for getting in there to play our first rounds.

I am still tweaking a few of the holes and trying to get a feel for how they will play.

Once the weather cools off a bit, I would like to start getting the back nine in shape for the grand opening.
If anyone has some spare time and would like to get started sooner, let me know and I will show you what
needs to be done. The cleanup on the back nine is going to require a group effort from the club and we probably
need to skip some weekend minis to get this done. I guarantee nobody is going to be disappointed with this course.
Maybe frustrated. We will all become better discgolfers and the course will be a big draw to Waco discgolf.

Front 9 has baskets in place, teepads poured, but is still closed to the public. They still need to repair some sidewalks. Bad news just came to us though, they are putting a bike path from the West Park to the East park going through the back 9!!! So guess whats about to happen there.

Will keep ya updated as often as I have real info, not hearsay. Calling our course coordinator/ designer tonight. Will report back after I have some discussion.

ok, looking at the 15th of January. EPA regulations saying 70% grass coverage by means of a 3' circle needs to have 70% grass any where in the park...

The sidewalk that is coming in will be down the road, no exact time frame but it has been discussed with the designer to minimize disruption of the course and design. We might be looking at a couple of holes being redesigned and one being moved/ changed completely.
