I opened a couple of emails from Tony Laws, Burlington (NC) P&R Director yesterday. The first one assuring me that he and the department are committed to establishing The Springwood Players' Course @ Burlington Springwood Park, asap in the upcoming fiscal year, beginning July 1st. The second email asking me to attend a meeting with him with the local Sports Development Commission of the local Convention and Visitors' Bureau of the Chamber of Commerce.

That's great, support from the local authorities is crucial to getting approvals. My brother recently installed a course in upstate NY and wrote down his steps for getting it funded and approved. It's the least fun but most important part of the process.

Keep us posted on progress here, I'll make the trip down from VA when it's ready!

I think the positioning and approval is the best part of getting a course in the ground. Everyone seems to want crack at designing but finding someone to do the proposals and get the approval..that's the hard part and most enjoyable part of the process...in my humble opinion.
