there is just so much bad/misinformation out there.

I feel bad for the new guy who is told to go check out youtube and then gets his first info from these types of videos.

From his comment on this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XwHUfADyvE).

I have no idea how I learned to throw the way I do. My brother and I started playing back in the day (late 80's) and we both throw sidearm and in a similar fashion. I used to play a lot of Frisbee and Ultimate back in the day, and I throw a regular Frisbee in a different way too. I guess it's just the way that feels the most comfortable to me, and it works! Plus it would be really hard to change it at this point!
So his 30 years of having "no idea how [he] learned to throw the way [he does]" makes him want to teach disc golf?

What do you mean poorly executed, I thought spike hyzers were supposed to be the most consistent shot?

Based on that doll’s head hair transplant he’s sporting, I’m guessing he is a highly delusional individual.

Pretty good chance that a guy who makes multiple disc golf instructional videos would also be a member of dgcr, right? Not sure you would want to out yourself on this thread, tho.

Default Sweet Guy, Really...

I've met Ivan on a couple of times at Bluemont DGC in Arlington, VA. Once while he was filming. He's really a nice, unassuming guy, and very willing to talk disc golf. He is simply what he is.

I queried gently about whether or when he would use a backhand shot, and he admitted that he had little interest in working to improve enough to incorporate that shot.

Ivan is a car enthusiast, apparently, and we talked about that a bit. He comes across as a pleasant fellow, just kind of locked into his world...
