Default Mini discs

I'll be going to the Lancaster PA area in spring, and noted the amount of mini-dg courses there are in that area. I figured it would be interesting to try it out.

For those that have played mini dg before, which manufacturer and makes do you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I like the Innova Mini Driver and Vibram Mini-VP for driving. The MVP Nano and Axiom Icon are pretty fun too.

You should toss some before hitting a course. It's super fun.

The Innova Mini Driver is good when you are throwing ~90 feet or further. For shots under ~90 feet I prefer the regular Innova Mini, I like the extra glide and it seems to be better at anhyzer and hyzer shots that need to move laterally.

I also really like the Dynamic Discs Mini Judge. I haven't thrown any "full power" shots with it but I really liked the flight on 80 foot and under shots. A little bit of turn and a touch of fade with a lot of glide.

I have also tried the Gateway stash minis. The larger part is a good flier.

I like the mini Buzzz and Tesla, but before that the small axe nesting mini was by far my fave. The top “driver” one is like a mini predator with a huge bead so it’s stable enough to throw FH.

I don’t carry it right now, but only because mine is a salient squad version and it brings back bad memories lol.

I kinda can't believe someone actually started a thread about this.

... but given that there are a number of legit mini courses out there, I suppose the real question is why I never noticed a thread like this before?

So, should we start a mini technique thread?

If someone has the info, how about a Marshall Street style "mini flight chart?"

Personally, the only thing I know about the various ministries is how they sit in the grass.

When in doubt, thumber.

I have a friend who can throw a small Gateway puck really clean. He wraps his index finger around the nose.

Bogey, I was also rather surprised to not see a dedicated thread previously.

The Tesla looks great, as does the buzzz (in fact, there's a package deal of discraft minis). However, these minis are larger than 4.5 inches, which is bigger than the "official" maximum for mini disc golf. The only minis that are to regulation are the MVP nano, axiom, and Innova minis, as well as the gateway pucks.

There are several molds made by Zing that should be legal. Wham-O!, Discraft, Legacy, Kastaplast, Trilogy, etc. all have unique minis that should be as well. Many have more than one.
