I enjoyed our chance encounter that one time, even though I played like crap!

1. To have Simon make a video wondering how my BH drives go so far...OR
1a. To drive as far as James Conrad jump putts

A. To keep enjoying the 'game' enough to play well into my 60s or more. Its great exercise, family time together, and we have seen some beautiful places and met some awesome people.
B. For as long as I can, to stay one stroke ahead of my 13 year old, who already can throw up to 325' from a standstill. (Rotten kid...)

Disc golf is a good walk enhanced by the challenge of trying to play better, and the company of friends who make good conversation.
I would like to drive 30 to 50' further on average so that I might have a few more legitimate inside circle one birdie opportunities per round. As it is, with an accurate drive I am usually leaving myself with an easy upshot and tap in.
I rarely compete because I get no joy from it. I don't like to lose, but winning brings me little pleasure. And, people who are very competitive rub me the wrong way and I can get a bit prickly. I don't like that about myself so I try to avoid those circumstances.

Winning is often worse than losing since you have to hang around with a bunch of sulking, excuse-making losers. Super-competitive people are hilarious though. I got to play a lead card with a hyper-serious, hyper competitive guy a few years ago. This was at a park with 2 courses in Ashland, KY, I forget the name. We both played pretty well, and I got to giggle at his antics all afternoon. The last hole was number 3 on the harder of the two courses, a long hole with trees and ob. He was ahead by one or two but had a disaster, going out of bounds twice, and a hissy fit, while I played it clean enough and was set up for a 4. He finally made his long putt for a 7 or 8. Instead of putting for the win, I picked up my disc and walked across the valley to the tent and told the td I was feeling funny and couldn't finish. Then I got to sit on the front row and cheer when this goon went forward to claim victory. His confliction was fascinating. But I hope his win fulfilled one of his aspirations.
