Default Putting Drill

A buddy dropped off his practice pin for me to use for a while and I was trying to come up with a putting drill that has elements of the putting confidence program and perfect putt 360. Here's what I came up with and it seems to be helping. Standard disclaimers apply.

Progressive putt. Start putting at a distance where you can hit 90-100% with 6 discs. You get two rounds to get 10 or more made from each distance. Reset after each attempt. When you hit 10 or more of 12 from that distance move out 5 feet and try again. If you hit 10 or more of 12 then move out 5 more feet. If you miss more than 2, move back in 5 feet. The idea is to make it as far out as you can and hit 83% or better.

i like it. this is pretty much what i do in my practice routine. i think the putting confidence is great, but you still need to practice from different distances.

It sounds like a good routine to me. I'll suggest doing something to take your eyes off the target between putts. I usually turn around and take a couple steps. This way I don't simply throw one disc after the other. I have to reset my stance and eyes for each put.

There's a really simple way to do this! Practice your approach too!

Get back about 70 feet or so and take an approach shot!

If you miss...who cares? Go putt!
