I think I got lucky as others have said swallowing pride and discing down or giving up the speed 12-14 discs early. I noticed my beat up star eagle I was able to get the most consistent distance out of once I really started trying to learn to play. every once in a while I would bomb my Katana but throw to throw to throw the eagle out distanced the valk and beast and katana.

I now have several speed 9 discs in my bag and will put in a few 12 or 13 discs BUT I still think speed 7 is the most magical.
Teebirds and Eagles, FD TL River and River PRO Leo3. so much control and variety. I really feel I don't lose much except for the longest holes... and then only on a day i'm throwing well over having faster discs.
Yes, speed 7 is great. I love my Teebirds and Leopard3s. Lots of good discs across all brands in the speed 7-9 range. There are almost too many choices.

I'm there too. Teebirds are as fast as I like and I can control slower speed discs so much better. each to their own

I'm hoping Glide does more of these. Damn good stuff.
