What are the main differences in the ion vs the anode?

Ion has a bead, Anode doesn't.

This, pretty much. Slight difference in the profile. On drives, it probably equates to a bit more OS flight in the Ion.

I find the Anode to be a bit straighter on putts from circle's edge type range.

Ion is a bit more stable.

The respective grips feel very different to me.

Ion and Anode have exact same rim/wall config...AIM?

Ion has a "bead" though...

By this, I'm not talking about anything like a bead, but the different feel of the rims. The Anode has what feels like an "arch" as the rim meets the flight plate in a high curve, and it feels very high/deep. I could never get a comfortable four-finger grip on it.

The Ion feels more solid in my hand, not that "arch" feel, but still a deep rim. I prefer a Judge/Warden depth to the Ion or Anode.

Ion right, Anode left. Besides the bead, they feel the same.

Inside the circle, there is really no difference in flight. I can easily go to my backyard and take a stack of mixed Anodes and Ions and practice putting with just fine. The Ion is a little more stable though, as has been mentioned, and it will be more apparent on longer throws and drives.

To SD86,

We are all different as disc golfers, and all have different hands. So take that into consideration when I say that I can't tell the difference between the Anode and Ion. Besides the bead, of course. And even with the bead, they feel so similar that they are completely interchangeable. But again, that's me.

Anode and Ion both have the curved or "arched" inner rim. How can one feel different than the other, in that regard at least?
