Default Mako3 vs Buzzz SS

I love throwing an Opto Pure for straight drives. To range it, I'll adjust the height and nose angle; get some extra height and it will glide farther still without fading.

For a little extra D, I'll throw a Buzzz SS. But I can't range it the same as the Pure; get some extra height or nose up and instead of gliding farther the Buzzz SS just fades out more.

Would a Mako3 give me the same flight characteristics as a Pure (not fading out on a higher throw) while getting a bit extra D?

Or, is a mid inherently more nose angle sensitive and I should give up trying to throw them as high as a putter to get extra D?

I have a Champion Mako 3 first run that is a great all around disc. I personally liked it better than my Buzzz SS. I have a M4 as well which is a super long mid. Not bagging either because of my love affair with my Neutron Axis. For a non overmold (ha!) mid it would be the Mako 3 and the M4, definately two outstanding discs that I clicked with right away. Just an opinion of a guy who knows nothing.

Don't know much about the buzzz ss, but the mako3 is one of the straightest discs available. The thing has a ton of glide too. I would definitely suggest you try it out.

Have you felt the a Mako/Mako3? They've got the convex wing that turns some people off. (I like it, but still prefer the flatter topped, and straight wing of the Buzzz SS). As far as stability, they're about the same. That HSS0/LSS0 is what you get if you back off the Mako3, which I can get with the Buzzz SS.

I've thrown a BuzzzSS once. Found one on the course and threw it off the tee after throwing my drive. Grip was okay. It flew pretty straight, but didn't 'wow' me. A couple of holes later, I saw a guy looking for a disc and I asked him what he'd lost, and was then happy to return his BuzzzSS to him.

I have Champion Mako3s (one of which I lost ) and Star Mako3s, and I like them: very straight with some ability to be turned over if needed. I also like the comfortable grip.

I bought a gstar mako3 and didn't like it. This particular disc did not glide well and I didn't like the grip but that's just personal preference. So I prefer the Buzzz ss over the mako3. Comet is superior to both!

I've thrown a Mako but not 3, and plenty of Buzzzes plus some Meteors, but no Buzzz SS. Does the Meteor share characteristics with Mako3? In other words, a relatively high speed mid that likes going straight or turning a bit, but doesn't power down particularly well?

I started this thread and I can definitively say that the correct answer to my original question was "get a Comet".
