Jim Myers dropped below 1000.

The first published ratings were Aug 8, 1998 which you can see in the ratings history of the players active then. Barry Schultz did have a rating above 1000. However, he only shot 996 in 1998 Pro Worlds. We didn't publish the Pro Worlds ratings as the first official update but used those Pro Worlds players as propagators to back calculate round ratings in some big events played before Worlds when enough of the Worlds props played in them. That's why you'll see more than just 8 rounds included in the first ratings published on Aug 8 which was the last day of Worlds.

Since those Aug 8 ratings are the only numbers you can see online, Barry would be in that elite crowd who started at 1000 or above rating. My list posted above shows the original props who had ratings of 1000 or above used to help produce those Aug 8 ratings.

I'm perfectly fine with using the Aug-8 ratings as the basis for the OP's inquiry since they're visible. I just didn't realize we never posted the Pro Worlds ratings only on the starting date. So you got a bit of insider history on what happened at the start.

On a coincidental note... The date of the first PDGA Ratings was also my wedding day, 8-8-98!

So Mike Moser, Scott Martin and Ken Climo. Seems like those are the only 3 who have stayed over 1000 on every update since the very first ratings.

I'd be surprised if Hammock wasn't there too.

Congrats on the apparent success of your marriage (from a twice-divorced dude)!

I'm also happy you didn't incorrectly refer to it as "ironic" as many people would have!
