Default 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship - Oct 14-17

https://discgolf.ultiworld.com/2021/...-250000-purse/ - Looks like a new sponsor has signed on with the DGPT Championship.

Guaranteed Rate home mortgage has signed on as the title sponsor, and is helping them along to a $250,000 total purse and a $30,000 payout to each of the winners.

Wow, that is huge. Hopefully payouts like this entice more women to get into the sport. It would be great to start seeing 75-100 women sign up for the largest events.

By the way, this is next month, not in 2022

Oh CRAP. LOL. Yeah if a mod could fix that on the thread title that'd be awesome.

...and people though $20K was a lot for winning the event last year. If this kinda $$$$ don't attract players, I dunno what will.

Helluva way to wrap up the season.

Yeah in a stupid way too. Throwing "fake out 360" spinning in the opposite direction, essentially putting the disc super hard and dislocated his shoulder. Gotta take better care of your money maker, really.

That kind of money should attract FPO players. .. and they only have to play 2-3 rounds and still get payed the same.

Strange that we dont get more FPO players on tour, the money is ok
I think Hailey have made more that a player like Kevin J this year.
Feels like it easier for a top FPO player to make a living out of discgolf than it is for a MPO player

I hope Paul or Ricky wins so there will be a 100k winner on tour this season. It pales in comparison to their contracts (well, I hope it pales to Ricky's, but I don't know for sure), but I think it'd be a neat accomplishment.

Then again, if it doesn't happen this year it'll happen in the next 2-3.

Other than the 3 top European women who were frozen out by Covid for the most part what female players are there who are good enough to thrive on tour and haven't done it? Sarah Gilpin maybe... I feel like it is strange that there are as many FPO players touring as there are.
