My favorite is the 3rd run. I still love the 1st runs, but they are pretty smooth and don't have as much grip as the 3rd runs. Also the 3rd runs are were they started to make them in a bunch of different colors (florecent green with that awesome blue hot stamp!). The 2nd runs were more stable than most (good old flat tops!). 4th is nice, but that's when they started to runs out of the Hangar 18 plastic. Some say that Dave D. was able to barter with these aliens for this plastic (blankets and some beads). So this plastic is still opaque, but not like the first three runs. Now the 5th is more like the Champ plastic you see today. So you pay big bucks for a cool hot stamp. As far a durability. I have a mixed bag of 1st and 3rd and they still don't show much wear. So if one wears down sooner than the other, it's very minimal.
The pain about CE is most info is word of mouth or just trial and error and you will hear some interesting stuff like "all 1st runs will have the weight and make of the disc inside the nipple ring on the bottom of the disc" True? not from what I've seen.
So keep asking questions, but take it with a grain of salt.

So, technically what run are the "last run" CE Teebirds? I found a couple of last run CE Teebirds and was wondering how they would compare to that of the infamous flat and grippy CE Teebirds?

i just got a ce tl in this white plastic it is absolutely the best feeling disc ever. i've also got an fl that's a whitish yellow color somewhat similar but the plastic doesn't feel the same. i could be way off, but i always thought that first run ce plastic seemed more like star than current champ. but maybe that's just me.

Early CE does feel a bit like Star but it's 100X more durable and more grippy.

Word, oddest thing about them. Almost every disc I've ever thrown tends to beat in worse in cold weather. These ones only really get damaged when it is really hot out.

I'm talking more durable than Star, not more durable than late run CE.

The "last run" of CE was the 5th run. It is very much like todays Champ plastic, but with a bit more pigment/color. I would say this run flies much like todays discs, unless there was a mold change. If the price is right, go for it, but for the most part. You are just paying extra for a cool looking hot stamp. I have a few 4th and 5th runs, but for the most part. I try and stay away from the 4th and 5th runs (5th for sure. That is, unless I can get them in the $40 to $60 range (4th runs).
Heck the only reason I have them is that I didn't know better....WOW a CE Valk, must have! Heeeyyy this just looks like Champ plastic!
