Default Fundraising for Tournaments

I'll be running a B-Tier next March, which I am super excited about. I've started planning, and everything is falling into place.

My question for TDs, how do you approach potential sponsors, hold fundraisers, raise funds, etc. to reach the 750 dollar minimum added cash minimum?

I've seen all sorts of ways. Probably depending on a lot on your locale.

Sometimes a club with available funds will dedicate some funds to an event.

If it's well attended by Ams and you get the full margin on the merch, you can fund most or all of it from that.

Hole sponsorhips can be sold, to local businesses and individuals. Local players, and even traveling players, may sponsor a hole for $25 or $30; a sign acknowledging their sponsorship is put at the tee.

The disc golf community will include a number of people with business connections---own businesses, or work for businesses that they can get a sponsorship out of, or just know someone they can beg.

I've seen parks departments, small town governments, or local tourism agencies provide sponsorship.

It gets a little iffier after that, canvassing the community for funds. Because, almost always, there is no real value to the business sponsor; very little return from local players, less from out-of-towners. Though it helps if hole sponsorship signs can be left on the course for an extended period (if the park allows it).

Weekly raffles at your local league can help as well. We do $2 raffles for donated discs. Do this every week and it can raise some funds.
