I'd agree. Compared to pretty much anywhere else on the internet this place is BEYOND tame.

Hell... just delve into some of the Facebook groups if you want to see 'real' people descend into the muck on the regular.

Interesting tidbit I hadn't seen, as reported by Ultiworld:

Four-time PDGA World Champion Paul McBeth, who was the most high-profile player to sign with Adidas last season, recently indicated he would not carry any outside sponsors this season. However, per Adidas Outdoor Marketing Manager Diane Kay, discussions between McBeth and the company as they related to 2017 are ongoing.

Maybe McBeth is trying to help others get on the team as part of his negotiations? And that's how Philo got on the grassroots sponsorship? That's what I'd like to think at least. Haven't heard if Leatherman is with Adidas again this year, so far.

Hypothetical circlejerk question warning: If Big Jerm and Paige Pierce both win a world championship this year, can we officially declare Prodigy's discs to be the worst?

Team Trilogy lets anyone join as long as they meet particular criteria and they are not governed by any manufacturer. It's a player-run "team"...more of a fan club than anything. There's a membership fee but there are discounts and exclusives on discs and other merch that presumably off-set it.

On the other hand, street teams are selected by the companies. The players don't really get much for free, but they do get discounts on discs, bags, clothing, etc in return for promoting the brand. One of the benefits they get is they can essentially audition to move up to the sponsored team. I know one player who moved up from the Prodigy Street team to their sponsored team this year, so his one year of paying for his "sponsorship" hopefully will lead to many years of a true sponsorship. He's a great young player, so the sky is really the limit for him.
There's no membership fee to join Team Trilogy.

I guess you can. I always thought it was the archer, not the arrow, right?

A non-hypothetical answer, no. There's all kinds of other factors that impacted the situation, but I don't really care about most of that. What really matters is scientific methodology. To determine that something is the agent behind a problem, you have to apply said something, then retrieve said something and reapply it. At the very least, you'd have to have PP and Jerm replay for Prodigy the next year, and lose again.

Of course all that ignores the fact that PP won World's using their plastic, and that Jerm had a number of successes.

Have I answered your troll sufficiently?

The Prodigy team video on Facebook was poorly cut. Only like a second per player, not enough to really read the name and look at the photo. Kind of weird, especially for all of the non-household names.

If Paige or Jerm wins this year, the most you could say is that maybe more confidence in their new discs helped out. However, that pre-supposes that those players disliked their Prodigy lineup, which I've never heard Jerm say.
