As good? Not really. Different flight and they don't feel good in the hand, way too much going on with the inner rim.

Could not agree more. Especially for sidearm.

When it comes to speed 9's nothing gets to the business faster than a Firebird. Predator has more flight, isn't as OS & has an odd shape to the rim. Raptor is more shallow & less OS than a Firebird.

I think that is where the Flick comes in. I know speed 10 but as close as Discraft could get without risking a potential lawsuit, just a tad longer OS disc with same numbers.

& Casey I've never thrown a Flick. I've held one at a PIAS & it had a pretty sharp rim like a high speed driver. Firebird has such a comfortable blunt shape to it.

Flight wise the mold flies like the OS FAF Firebirds so in my mind that is as close as one will get from Discraft at least how they fly by several people in online video. Outside of brands that use Innova for disc manufacture nobody has come close to a normal Firebird, probably due to Dave D still holding and renewing the patent. I say make a slower Speed 8 exact copy of the Firebird just slightly smaller rim, Innova is not making that, yet.

They way you all seem to feel about the predator...that's the same I feel about the feel of a firebird, except the firebird is unusably overstable to me.

I've never felt the need for something more overstable and less glide than a predator.

The predator is a great backhand Disc. It doesn’t have the dumpy firebird fade, it’s more of a forward fading hyzer finish. But I can’t power forehands on it with my grip / awkward rim.

I’ve recently tested the pred, raptor, firebird, hellfire, flick, and machete. The winner for me was the hellfire surprisingly. Super comfy both FH and BH. The proline plastic is awesome.

My issue is this gap between my zone and the hellfire basically. I’ve tried drones and hornets, great for BH’s. But they aren’t quite stable enough for power FH’s and fly the same distance as the zone nearly.

I’ve been investigating looking into a justice or a xxx. I tried the resistor and I love it, but it’s pretty damn fast for a 6 speed. Goes really straight then fades. I’d love to track down some reapers to try out. But it doesn’t seem worth it to me if they don’t run anymore.
